Ensure all required information is completed on the application form, including the applicant’s signature and date. Assess the applicant’s previous educational qualifications (obtained in Australia or overseas) necessary for studying at the required level of the proposed qualification. Evaluate whether the applicant meets the required entry-level qualifications for the specific qualification they intend to enroll in. If the applicant’s educational qualifications do not meet CBM’s admission requirements, other factors may be considered at CBM’s discretion and in accordance with the course entry requirements as per the training package. These factors may include:

  • Mature age
  • Work experience
  • Attitude and aptitude
  • Previous academic results
  • Attendance rate in the previous college
  • Ability and skills to function in an academic environment
  • Potential to succeed in academic endeavors

Assess the applicant’s English language skills. If the student achieves a satisfactory score in IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE Academic, they will be admitted to their chosen course. Refer to the Policy on Assessing English Language Proficiency (International Students). If an applicant cannot provide evidence of a satisfactory English score and there are doubts about their English language proficiency, they will be required to undergo an English test (at the student’s expense) or enroll in an English (ELICOS) course until they achieve the required English score. If the student demonstrates the ability to communicate in English but cannot produce any formal English qualification, they will be required to complete an English language test in Melbourne. Enter the student’s details into the student management system. Send an offer letter to the applicant and/or the educational agent generated from the student management system. Applicants must pay the requisite fee upon accepting the offer. Once the fee is received along with the signed student agreement, the admission officer will: Ensure the student agreement is properly signed and dated by the applicant. Generate an Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCOE) from PRISMS and send it to the Student/Education agent to facilitate the issuance of a student visa. Applicants must then apply for a student visa at their Australian Student Visa issuing center and make travel arrangements to Australia once the student visa is granted. Save a soft copy of the eCOE on CBM’s drive and update the student management system. The Administration Manager will conduct ongoing internal audits for the applications finalized during the week to ensure all applications have the required supporting documents and that the application forms and student agreements are duly signed and dated. General Entry Requirements Applicants who meet the selection criteria will be approved for enrollment in CBM courses. In line with government policies, students with disabilities are fully encouraged to participate in training.
