This qualification represents the role of individuals who utilize specialized knowledge and skills, coupled with leadership and management experience, across various enterprise and industry settings. At this level, individuals exercise initiative and sound judgment in planning and executing a range of leadership and management tasks, taking responsibility for both personal and team outcomes within broad organizational guidelines.

Entry Requirements

To enter this qualification, the Training Package stipulates that candidates must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Educational Background: Completion of a Diploma or Advanced Diploma from the BSB Training Package (current or equivalent superseded versions).
  • Work Experience: Two years of full-time relevant workplace experience in an operational or leadership role within an enterprise.

Additionally, CBM has set specific entry requirements for international students:

  • Age and Education: Students must be at least 18 years old and have completed Year 10 or its equivalent.
  • Course Entry Interview: Participation in a course entry interview is required to assess the student’s suitability for the course and their individual needs.
  • English Language Proficiency: An IELTS score of 6.0, with test results that are no more than two years old. Equivalent scores from other English language tests like PTE and TOEFL are also accepted.
  • Alternative English Language Competence: English language competence can also be demonstrated by:
    • Completion of a Certificate III or higher qualification in Australia within the last two years.
    • Five years of education in an English-speaking country.
    • Successful completion of an English Placement Test at the IELTS 6.0 level.

Students are required to provide their test results to confirm that they meet the equivalent of an IELTS 6.0 score.

Assessment Methods

Assessments will be conducted in a face-to-face format and may include the following methods:

  • Direct Observation: Conducted in a simulated classroom environment, often through role plays.
  • Product-Based Methods: Involves the completion of reports, case studies, projects, and presentations.
  • Questioning: Includes both written and verbal questioning as part of various assessment tasks.
  • Combination of Methods: Assessments may utilize a mix of the above approaches to comprehensively evaluate student competencies.

Course Delivery

  • In-Person Learning: Delivered at our Melbourne Campus, with 20 hours per week dedicated to classroom-based training and assessments.
  • Self-Study: Includes 5 hours per week of structured, self-directed learning, which also involves completing assessment tasks initiated in class.
  • Individual Support: Up to one hour per week of personalized support is available if needed.
