Course Description

This qualification represents individuals who utilize advanced knowledge and skills in organizational learning and capability development. In these roles, they generate and critically evaluate complex ideas, while also initiating, designing, and executing major learning and development initiatives within an organization. These professionals typically bear full responsibility and accountability for their own work as well as the performance of others.

This qualification is particularly relevant for leaders and managers who leverage learning to enhance organizational capability. Related job titles may include RTO Manager and RTO Director.

Entry Requirements

Age Requirements:

Students must be at least 18 years old at the time of submitting the application form.



Academic Requirements:

To enroll in the course offered by CBM, applicants must have successfully completed Year 12 or equivalent senior secondary studies in their home country, comparable to the Australian senior secondary school examination.


Alternatively, mature age students without the minimum education requirements may also be considered if they have relevant work experience in the chosen field of study and can demonstrate the ability to meet course requirements. Typically, a minimum of 2 years of experience is expected; however, each application will be reviewed individually. Relevant work experience must be evidenced by an employment reference letter on company letterhead, work samples, and a curriculum vitae. 

English Language Requirements for International students:

International students applying for this course, whether from abroad or within Australia, must meet one of the following English language proficiency requirements:


A minimum IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent for direct entry into a VET course.
An IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent, with an additional ELICOS course of up to 10 weeks to be completed before starting the main VET course.
An IELTS score of 5.0 or equivalent, with an additional ELICOS course of up to 20 weeks to be completed before starting the main VET course.
Note: IELTS results older than two years are not accepted.


Alternatively, an Oxford Placement Test score of 61 or higher is acceptable, with an average test score of 61 being equivalent to an IELTS score of 5.5.

OR, applicants can meet the English language requirements by:

Providing evidence that they have studied in English for at least five years in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Republic of Ireland, South Africa, United Kingdom, or the United States.


Providing evidence that, within two years* prior to the date of their signed written agreement, they have successfully completed in Australia a foundation course, a Senior Secondary Certificate of Education, or a substantial part of a Certificate IV or higher qualification under the Australian Qualifications Framework.


This refers to the date CBM receives the signed written agreement, either via email or in person.

Language, Literacy and Numeracy test (LLN):
Students enrolling in this course at CBM must have strong numeracy skills, as the program involves calculations and other course-related tasks. To assess this, all prospective students are required to complete a Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) test before the course begins. Based on the test results, some students may be identified as needing additional support, either through internal resources or external services.


The LLN test will be administered on campus using the ACSF-mapped online assessment tool, LLN Robot, under the supervision of a qualified LLN assessor.


Students must achieve the expected performance level of ACSF Level 4 in the LLN test to meet the requirements for the BSB80120 – Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning). For more detailed information, please refer to CBM’s Enrolment Kit and/or Student Handbook.



Computer literacy requirements:
Students enrolling in this course must possess basic computer skills. As part of the application process, students are required to answer questions related to their computer and internet skills in the Pre-Training Review form. For those who lack basic computing skills, CBM will offer foundational support on how to use a computer. If necessary, students may be advised to undertake additional computer training, such as the International Computer Driving License (ICDL), which incurs a separate fee. Materials and Equipment Required:
CBM will provide access to computers equipped with necessary resources, including internet access, during classroom hours. However, for completing assignments and self-study tasks, students are expected to have their own laptop or computer running Windows 7 or a later version. Additionally, students must maintain an active email address for communication purposes and be reachable by phone (mobile or landline) and by postal mail.


All students are also required to have access to MS Office applications, such as Microsoft Word, and an email platform to facilitate their studies and communications.

Pathways from the Qualification

Upon successful completion, students may be eligible to apply for bachelor’s or degree-level courses at other institutions.

Training will be delivered in-person on a full-time basis, with a minimum of 20 hours per week in a classroom setting that includes a simulated work environment.
